Born 1982, Rio de Janeiro
Maria Laet’s work has an initial silence.
Pure, beautiful photographs, asking you to get closer, to scrape the surface, to see what/who is in there.
Her drawings often start as process, as the dancing wind that blows over the balloon, making its black trace on the thin, white Japanese paper.
The action takes over for a moment, but what is left is the delicate beauty of her work.
